Danny Garcia – Managing Attorney

Daniel M. Garcia embarked on his legal career as a criminal prosecutor at the Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office in Chicago, Illinois, in 2010. His tenure began as a criminal appeals attorney, where he diligently drafted and filed responsive appeals on behalf of the State Attorney’s office. Later, he transitioned to the trial group in Chicago’s 1st Municipal District and subsequently to the fifth district in Bridgeview, where he handled thousands of misdemeanor cases and brought over 100 cases to trial. With a focus on cases ranging from DUIs to assault resulting in serious injury, Mr. Garcia honed his skills as a tenacious trial attorney.

In 2013, Mr. Garcia returned to his home state of Arizona and joined the Coconino County Attorney’s Office in Flagstaff as a prosecutor. There, he handled a broad spectrum of crimes, from aggravated DUIs to homicides. Notably, he co-handled a complex gang murder case that spanned three months, showcasing his dedication and expertise. Later, Mr. Garcia took the lead as the prosecutor for the drug interdiction unit, gaining firsthand experience in state and federal undercover investigations involving drug trafficking throughout Arizona and the United States. He played a crucial role in overseeing the investigation and prosecution phase of “Operation Nightfall.”

In 2017, Mr. Garcia relocated to the Phoenix area and transitioned his career to criminal defense. Since then, he has been a fierce advocate for clients facing state and federal charges, with a particular focus on drug trafficking, smuggling, and arms smuggling cases. With an extensive trial experience in both State Superior Court and Federal Court, Mr. Garcia has consistently demonstrated his ability to secure reduced plea agreements and even complete dismissals of charges during the pretrial phase. His track record of over 100 criminal trials reflects his unwavering commitment to fighting for his clients’ rights.

Throughout his career as a defense attorney, Mr. Garcia has had the privilege of representing numerous clients from the immigrant community in Arizona. As a fluent Spanish and English speaker, he understands the unique challenges faced by Spanish-speaking clients within the criminal justice system, as well as the complexities of immigration law. His exposure to the consequences of criminal charges on immigrants has instilled in him a deep empathy and connection to this community. As the son of a Mexican immigrant and a naturalized citizen himself, Mr. Garcia is personally invested in advocating for the rights of immigrants.

Janee Garcia – Advocate for Justice

Janee Garcia – Attorney at Law

Janee Garcia is a native Arizonan from Mesa. Ms. Garcia attended law school in Michigan and graduated in 2008. She began her career as a criminal prosecutor for the Salt River Pima Maricopa Indian Community in Scottsdale, Arizona. Ms. Garcia quickly excelled at trial practice and became passionate about prosecuting domestic violence and crimes against children.

In 2014, Ms. Garcia relocated to Prescott, Arizona to work stateside as a criminal prosecutor for the Yavapai County Attorney’s Office. As a trial attorney, Ms. Garcia brought many cases to trial including misdemeanors, DUI, and domestic violence cases. Ms. Garcia was later promoted to Juvenile Crimes where she was the sole charging attorney for Prescott and the entire Verde Valley. Ms. Garcia handled both a misdemeanor and felony caseload. Notably, Ms. Garcia’s first felony case was multiple counts of sexual assault against a minor, a class 2 felony and dangerous crime against children. The Defendant was sentenced to 40 years in prison.

Ms. Garcia then returned to Indian Country as a criminal prosecutor for the Yavapai-Apache Nation in Camp Verde, Arizona. Ms. Garcia handled adult criminal cases, and juvenile delinquency and dependency cases. Ms. Garcia continued training to become a subject matter expert in domestic violence, including completing Investigation and Prosecution of Strangulation in Indian Country training with the United States Department of Justice.

In 2016, Ms. Garcia moved back home to Phoenix, Arizona and took another prosecution job at the Maricopa County Attorney’s Office. She started in preliminary hearings at the South East Facility Courts in Mesa. Ms. Garcia didn’t take the typical prosecutor path at the office. Instead of going to the general felony trial group after her time in prelims, her advanced litigation skill set was recognized by her superiors, thus she skipped trial group and was promoted directly to Major Crimes, Special Victims Division, Family Violence Bureau – East. There Ms. Garcia specialized in the prosecution of major felony domestic violence crimes and dangerous crimes against children including adult homicide, aggravated assault, homicide of infants and children, child abuse, abusive head trauma, Shaken Baby Syndrome (aka Shaken Impact Syndrome), strangulation, stalking, revenge porn, and elder abuse. Ms. Garcia presented 1st degree murder cases to the Capital Review Committee for death penalty consideration. Additionally, Ms. Garcia worked closely with Phoenix Children’s Hospital on child homicide and serious child abuse cases. Ms. Garcia has substantial experience with complex victim issues including recantation, missing victims, and uncooperative victims.

After many years, Ms. Garcia decided it was time to transition out of criminal prosecution and took a position as Bar Counsel at the State Bar of Arizona in the Lawyer Regulation Office where she represented the State Bar in attorney discipline and disability matters. She currently works in state government focused on tax law. She is not currently taking cases for Garcia & Garcia Law Firm but assists in the management of the firm and administrative operations.

Jeff was born in Phoenix, Arizona, but spent most of his early years in Oklahoma and Texas. Eventually, he felt a strong pull back to his Arizona roots. Growing up in a family of attorneys, it seemed like a natural path for him to enter the legal world. He has accumulated over 30 years of experience in Criminal Defense Intake, honing his skills and specializing exclusively in Criminal Defense cases.

Sixteen years ago, Jeff returned to Arizona and began collaborating with various law firms focusing on Criminal Defense. His current role as an Intake Specialist at Garcia and Garcia Lawfirm highlights his unwavering commitment to this field. Jeff deeply values clear communication and hard work, principles that align with Daniel Garcia’s, fostering a productive and harmonious professional relationship.
